ABOUT US
Department of Regional Economics and the Environment is affiliated to Institute of Urban and Regional Studies and Planning, Faculty of Economics and Sociology at the University of Lodz.
We are a team of 15 researchers representing the fields of economics, geography, urban design and planning, environmental studies, and econometrics. Our expertise covers issues of:
- economic and spatial development of cities and regions,
- local and regional development policy,
- sustainable development,
- social-ecological systems,
- territorial production systems.
We teach students of three programmes: Urban and Regional Studies and Planning, EcoCity, and Investments and Real Estate.
We do research- and practice oriented projects. In Poland and abroad we cooperate with research centres, public authorities, non-governmental organisations, and companies in the scope of research, education and consulting.
We are advisers of SKN SPATIUM, the organisation gathering students of urban and regional studies and planning.
